Hydroponics

As a side project this summer I'm looking into starting a small version of hydroponics ( or however you should say it). We found a small farmer surplus shop here in town. They are going to place out their hydroponic kits sometime next week. I'm interested in looking at what all that comes with, but will probably be about $200 i'm guessing. I'm certain I can put one together for at most half the price. Spoke with a Walmart manager too, and he said that they would be placing out their hydroponics within the next couple of weeks. Sure I can find some decent prices for some of the essentials I need. Will keep y'all updated.

Radishes and Green beans

The radishes are coming along nicely we believe. They are 25 day radishes. I think that means from seed to harvest is 25 days, but not totally sure. Looking into when that harvest should look like. Will take some footage when we're certain. :)   The green beans are coming along very nicely! They've developed their first real leaves and have a height of about 4-5 inches. We're both excited to see what will change in the next 2 weeks.  :)

Two of the first 2 radishes we planted this season. Red cup in front is one, and other red cup in the back behind the burlap sac is the second. It's been 22 days since they were planted. They should be getting close to harvest. We will see.

The long green bin  we have planted additional radishes. Planted them about two weeks after the first two. Difference is we used Miracle Grow for these versus cheap bags of soil for $1. They're growing fast.

This is the two green beans we planted on the 3rd of February. They're coming along very nicely. Need to place these two to separate, larger pots. We will be transferring at least one of them to the community garden.  

Rare vegetables

I think we're going to get some rare vegetables to plant on the plot. Some of these include kangkong (water spinach), bird peppers and winged beans. =)
